Governor’s Office of Land Use and Climate Innovation launches Vulnerable Communities Platform tool
The Vulnerable Communities Platform (VCP) is an easy-to-use tool that shows how climate change related extreme heat, flooding, sea level rise, drought and wildfire are expected to affect California communities.
Agencies can use the VCP to assist in identifying communities that are most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change to inform outreach and funding strategies. Local governments and community based organizations can use the platform to get an overview of their area’s vulnerabilities, helping them to pinpoint key challenges and tell their story in grant applications or planning documents, and take steps to improve their resilience.
