Workshop Description:

California’s Climate Change Assessments contribute to the scientific foundation for understanding climate-related vulnerability at the local scale and informing resilience action, while also supporting State policies, plans, and programs to safeguard California from climate change. The Fourth Assessment includes reports for nine regions of the state, including climate impacts and adaptation solutions for the North Coast Region. This public workshop will share findings from the Fourth Assessment and provide an opportunity for interactive dialogue and information sharing to support local climate change action. The objectives of the workshop are to:

Presentations & panel discussions sharing information and outcomes from the Fourth Climate Assessment as well as other local government, Tribal, state, federal and academic climate change information resources.

SESSION 2: FUNDING TOOLS AND STRATEGIES FOR ADVANCING REGIONAL CLIMATE ACTION

Panel discussions identifying state funding strategies to build local climate resilience – from pre-disaster planning to recovery  – and opportunities to align state climate objectives with local funding needs.

SESSION 3: INFORMATION GAPS AND BARRIERS TO CLIMATE ADAPTATION
